Privacy policy.

Adelaide Wheelie Bins, ABN 32 656 771 443 (we, us) provides bin hire and collection services. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who sees it and how you can ask about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

To run bins and collections we collect the information the job needs and not much more: your name, phone number and email address; the service address where bins are delivered and collected; access notes you give us about that address (gate codes, dogs, where the bins sit); your booking history and invoices; and anything you include in a quote request, such as photos of a waste pile or a scope of works.

If you pay online, your card details go directly to our payment processor over an encrypted connection. We never see or store full card numbers; we receive only a confirmation that payment was made, and a reference we can refund against.

How we collect it

Almost all of it comes straight from you: the booking form, the quote forms, the customer portal, phone calls, SMS and email. We do not buy marketing lists and we do not collect information about you from data brokers.

Why we collect it

We use your information to quote, book and deliver the service: scheduling collections, telling the driver where the bins are, invoicing you, taking payment, sending service notices about your own collections (such as a changed collection day), and answering your questions. We may also use your contact details to tell you about changes to prices or services that affect your account. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not send third party marketing.

Who sees it

Inside the business, the owners and drivers see the details needed to run your collections. Outside it, your information is shared only with the service providers that make the business work: our payment processor (for online payments), our website and database hosting providers, and our accounting software for invoicing and tax. Each provider receives only what its job needs. We disclose personal information beyond that only if the law requires it.

Storage and security

Your information is stored in our booking and accounts system, which is protected by access controls and encrypted connections. Some of our providers store data outside Australia; where they do, we rely on providers that meet recognised security standards. We keep records as long as tax and business record rules require, then delete or archive them.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses the minimum it needs to work: session information for the booking form and customer portal. We do not run advertising trackers. If we add basic analytics to count page visits, it will be configured not to identify you personally.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we no longer need by contacting Adelaide Wheelie Bins at admin@adelaidewheeliebins.com.au or on 0481 274 420. We respond within a reasonable time, normally days rather than weeks. If you believe we have mishandled your information and we cannot resolve it with you directly, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes that affect existing customers are flagged on invoices or by email.
